I have loved old movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood for many years and want to recommend a few of them to you - the standout movies, the ones that I believe you will enjoy time and time again.

The focus is primarily on American movies made between the years 1930 and 1960, beginning when sound came in and the studio system was the major force in film making. The movie makers who learned their craft under this system remained a strong and vibrant force long after the system itself declined.

All the movies appearing on this site are selected and recommended for their enduring entertainment value. They are “the good ones”. Pages on movies and the people who made them will be continually added, so come back again and look for more.
